WE ALL NEED THE SUN...just not too much!
The way the sun is mentioned you’d think that the sun is not good at all and a danger to humanity. People are teaching children to use sunscreen all the time yet most are neglecting to help children realize that if it were not for our precious sun, there would be no life on earth as we know it. Our beautiful plant life uses the sun as food and is responsible for our current nutritious vegetation fueling the life force of all that we know on planet earth. So let’s teach our children to not be afraid of the sun. The fact of the matter is that we should teach our child(ren) that we all need some sun, just not too much.
Children should be educated about melanin because every human being meaning all races of people on this planet have it. However, some people have more melanin than others. Melanin protects us from the dangerous rays of the sun and the more translucent the skin is, the more sensitive a person may be to the sun. Please stop making children paranoid and afraid of our beautiful sun. The sun is so powerful and wonderful that it’s 93 million miles away from our earth and we still reap the benefits from it.
Most Commercial Children’s Sunscreens Are Dangerous!
I decided to write this article because I was putting sunscreen on children and started coughing. One child's eyes started burning. Children are often told to hold their breath and then run from the area where the sunscreen was sprayed. It is obvious with all this drama, that common chemicalized sunscreens on the market today, are not safe. A close look at the ingredients reads like a formula for a bomb and not something that should be placed on a child’s skin. The good thing is that more and more companies are being created promoting natural sunscreens and this dynamic will change the way sunscreens are formulated. Still, however, many parents, caregivers, teachers and the public at large are not aware of the dangers of commonly used sunscreens on the market today. Please pass this article along to as many people and families as you can because it's time for a positive change for the safety of children everywhere!
Let's Take A Closer Look At Some Of The Ingredients In Popular Sunscreens
Aminobenzoic acid is a drug and may cause skin irritation, vomiting and diarrhea.
Avobenzone- Octocrylene is often found in sunscreens with Avobenzone. Too much of this chemical can have harmful side effects. It is efficient at absorbing into the skin and can penetrate to the deepest layers of the skin. This deep absorption leads to interactions with other chemicals which cause changes deep in the skin, producing oxygen radicals that can lead to cell death and may be implicated in cardiovascular disease.
Cinoxate- Also known as Ethoxyethyl-p-Methoxycinnamate causes blisters, wheezing, coughing and shortness of breath
Dioxybenzone- Hormone disruptions and dangerous to aquatic life
Ensulizole- Induces damage to DNA which can trigger deadly diseases
Homosalate- Can cause disruption on the body's hormonal systems especially estrogen, progesterone and androgen including reduced fertility and breast disease.
Tinosorb S and M. Found in chemical sunscreens creates a white cast on the skin which may be bothersome on darker skin tones. My question is why can't sunscreen be created without these concerns? Another question is, why is this particular chemical bothersome on darker skin tones?
Meradimate- is a chemical in sunscreen that is CURRENTLY under review by the FDA and has been BANNED in Europe and Japan due to potential risks to humans and the environment.
Mexoryl SX Many researchers have discovered that this chemical can cause eye damage, allergies, developmental and reproductive disorders. The fact that many of these chemicals are so controversial, should be of concern for parents and families.
Oxybenzone- According to research done by scientists, this concoction of chemicals is most troublesome as it causes skin reactions, behaves like an endocrine disruptor and is more harmful to children. It causes eye irritation, skin allergies, breathing problems just to name a few atrocities.
Octinoxate- Found in chemical sunscreens can cause developmental and reproductive toxicity. Be sure to view the website from Environmental Working Group for more eye opening revealing shocking truths about these controversial chemical potions.
Avobenzone. Found in chemical sunscreens Due to the toxic nature of this chemical, it's best to avoid any products that contain it. It can disturb the hormonal functioning of the endocrine system. It can harm the liver, kidneys and nervous system.

NOTICE Before you go on a trip, be sure to check your destination's rules about sunscreen. You should be able to find this information on your booking agents website. You can also contact the tourist board or local authorities if you are not sure about the brand. If you are using natural chemical free sunscreen, you do't have to worry about all the hassle. As a general rule of thumb, use reef-safe choice worldwide. Or just don't buy sunscreen before your departure but purchase upon arriving to your destination to ensure that you have the correct sunscreen
Do you really want to put these deadly potions and lotions on your child?
At the end of this article there are two petitions that you can sign so that we can all affect positive change to get more safer and less chemicalized sunscreens on the market for our children. Please spread the word about this and share with your family, friends, co workers, neighbors and community.
Most people place sunscreen on a child once but manufacturers state that it should be used every two hours a child is outside. Now keep in mind aerosol spray that many of the sunscreens that are sprayed were found to contain the carcinogen Benzene Than.
There are so many sunscreens on the market now-a-days that are natural with less ingredients and dangerous chemicals. We wonder why many parents and caregivers are purchasing chemical filled dangerous ones. Below, you will notice several natural sunscreens and the more natural ingredients to examine. Honor your children and use safer, less chemical breath taking (literally) dangerous sunscreens.
Safer Natural Sun Screens
Please sign the petition against the use of aerosol sunscreen. I supported the Prohibit The Use of Aerosol Sunscreen At Barton Springs petition and I encourage you to do the same. If you can donate a few dollars to chip in to help the cause expand that would be great.
Together we can all make the world a more healthier and safer place for our children.
People across America and around the world are starting to realize that many sunscreens are not safe. Be sure to sign this online petition to join the cause. Tinosorb S and M. Found in chemical sunscreens creates a white cast on the skin which may be bothersome on darker skin tones. My question is why can't sunscreen be created without these concerns? Another question is, why is this particular chemical bothersome on darker skin tones?
I just found out about this sunscreen and I'm excited about it. I discovered this sunscreen while I was researching the chemical Tinosorb S and M. Take a look...
I'm so excited about this that I have ordered it for myself and my family. It is designed for children with darker skin tones because, as we can see, chemicals such as Tinosorb S and M are bothersome for children and people with darker skin tones. Unlike these chemicals, Baby Donna Sunscreen is for people of all skin tones and skin types. It does not leave a sticky white residue on the skin and is safe and effective because it is vegan and chemical free!
